Advocating for Veterans with ALS
The ALS Association enlisted Madeira Public Relations to provide media relations counsel to its national headquarters office in Washington, DC. Just one example of our work includes elevating national awareness surrounding the plight of U.S. military veterans who for unknown reasons are twice as likely to die from Lou Gehrig’s disease than any other segment of the population. Working closely with patients, scientific and health care policy experts, Madeira Public Relations has secured robust media coverage in addition to developing a host of award winning digital content highlighting the hope and promise of clinical research. The ALS Association also called on Madeira Public Relations to develop and implement its earned media measurement and reporting program. This included setting key benchmarks and providing in depth media coverage analysis on a quarterly basis. Following the success of the Ice Bucket Challenge, Madeira Public Relations crafted communication plans for the association's field offices to continue leading highly visible fundraising initiatives. |
“Madeira Public Relations has a knack for crafting meaningful messages that resonate with The ALS Association’s constituents. It’s easy to see why Madeira Public Relations won three Marcom Awards, including one that focused on the devastating impact of Lou Gehrig’s Disease on our nation’s veterans.” –Carrie Munk, Former Chief Communications & Marketing Officer ALS Association National Headquarters |
